Nd: YLF crystal
Nd: YLF (neodymium-doped yttrium lithium fluoride) crystal is the most common lasing medium for diode-pumped and arc lamp pumped solid-state lasers, and its laser transitions occur at 1047 and 1053 nm, it is very brittle, slightly soluble in water and has a tendency to fracture easily, compared with Nd: YAG laser, Nd: YLF laser has an ability to yield higher pulse energies for repetition rates of a few kHz, and low thermal conductivity. efficient for single mode operation, excellent beam quality, and shows less resonator polarization and thermal lensing than Nd: YAG.
