Arsuf Lasers’ reliable product
When coming to sourcing a CTH: YAG laser rod for your eye-safe 2.1 μm application, there is one major parameter to consider.
There is a great variation in slope efficiency offered by various laser rod vendors. Arsuf Lasers developed a process that requires indeed much more care and investment; however, it yields around 30% higher efficiency.
This counts much for medical systems using this rod.
A high level of polishing and our hard coating process complete the production cycle.
Arsuf Lasers supplies laser rods and also provides engineering support and failure analysis, free if needed.

More information about CTH: YAG crystal
Cr: Tm: Ho: YAG is a highly efficient laser crystal pumped by a Xenon lamp or diode with a wavelength of 2.1μm. The pump source originates from the flash lamp energy absorbed by Cr3+, Ho3+ is a working ion, and Tm3+ acts as an intermediary to transfer energy. A 2.1 μm laser wave can be absorbed by water very well, transmits atmosphere easily, and is safe to the eye.
Applications
It is commonly used as a laser medium in medical procedures, particularly in urology and ophthalmology, as it emits light at a wavelength of 2140 nm, which is absorbed by water, making it highly effective for cutting and vaporizing tissue. It can also be used for other applications such as material processing and spectroscopy.
Frequently Asked Questions
According to the technical specification, a detailed report is supplied to the customer.
No, as all crystals are processed on the same line, the main difference lies in the LIDT requirements (Laser Induced Damage Threshold) determined by the rod's energy density.
Replacement depends on usage, maintenance, and industry, similar to car mileage.
Arsuf is capable of selecting diverse manufacturing and coating processes to maximize crystal quality, efficiency, maximal energy output, above-average lifetime, and high damage threshold. The entire process is performed in-house, leveraging multiple supplier capabilities to ensure the highest customer satisfaction—free from the constraints of a single-supplier approach.
Product warranty is provided by Arsuf, enabling selection from multiple manufacturing and coating technologies for the best outcome.
